Fellow adventurers! If you’re looking for a vibrant weekend getaway filled with culture, delicious food, and epic sports, Kansas City, MO, is calling your name! With its central location in the USA, Kansas City is easily accessible (only 1 hr flight from Chicago). Get ready to jazz up your weekend with my fabulous itinerary that might just surprise you with how fun Kansas City is!

Friday: Dive into the Heart of KC

Check-in at 21c Museum Hotel

Start your weekend with a cozy stay at the 21c Museum Hotel. This place is not just a hotel; it’s an art experience! With contemporary art installations throughout, you’ll find inspiration around every corner. After you drop off your bags, take a stroll through the gallery and admire the art.

Breakfast at Café Corazon

After settling in, it’s time to treat your taste buds! Head over to Café Corazon, a women, Latino, and indigenous-owned cafe and bakery. The vibrant atmosphere and mouthwatering food will have you feeling the love put into it!

Visit the American Jazz Museum

Continue your day with a cultural gem: the American Jazz Museum. Dive into the rich history of jazz music in Kansas City and celebrate the legends who shaped the sound of this incredible genre. The exhibits are engaging and you can even catch a live performance at the Blue Room!

Tour and Tasting at Vine Street Brewing Co.

Now, let’s refuel with some great brews! Head over to Vine Street Brewing Co., Missouri’s first Black-owned brewery, where you can tour the incredible space and get a tasting. Their craft beers are a must-try!

See Art and Play Mini Golf at Nelson Atkins Museum of Art

This beautiful art museum is FREE and features many collections from around the world and special exhibitions (tickets available for purchase). Don’t miss the Art Course ($18 for adults), an artist-designed mini golf experience!

Dinner at Rye

Feeling hungry after all that fun? Swing by Rye for a hearty dinner! This farm-to-table spot offers comfort foods based on traditional Midwestern recipes. Even Taylor and her friends have been spotted here!

Saturday: An Epic Day Around the City

Breakfast at Donutology

Stop by Donutology for the cutest and most creative donuts you’ve ever seen! With an array of toppings, it’s the perfect sweet treat to enjoy as you fuel up to explore the city.

Explore the City Market

Full of local shops and vendors, this vibrant weekend market in The River Market is worth a visit to pick up some local goods!

Afternoon Fun at a KC Current Game

If you’re a sports fan (and let’s be honest, even if you’re not), you can’t miss a KC Current game! The energy of the crowd and the thrill of the game will get your adrenaline pumping. Cheer on the team and immerse yourself in the local sports culture—it's a blast! Plus, the Current’s new stadium is the first women’s professional sports stadium in the world!

Cocktails at J. Rieger & Co. and Percheron

Keep the excitement going and treat yourself to some cocktails at J. Rieger & Co.’s lively outdoor garden bar Electric Park. For a great view of Kansas City, head to Crossroad Hotel’s rooftop bar Percheron.

Dinner at Fox & Pearl

End the day with a delightful meal at Fox & Pearl. The ambiance is charming, and the food is downright delectable! Indulge in their scrumptious dishes—you deserve it after a full day!

Sunday: The Must-Dos Before You Leave

Shop Local

Before leaving town, take some time to shop locally. Explore the unique boutiques and shops that showcase Kansas City’s creativity and charm. You’ll find the perfect souvenir to remember your trip! Some of my favorite shops are Westside Storey, Shop Local, and Made in KC/Black Pantry!

Final Meal at Q39

You can’t leave Kansas City without having some BBQ! Q39 is famous for its BBQ, and trust me, you won’t be disappointed! Dig into their mouthwatering brisket or ribs—you’ll be dreaming about it long after you’ve left (like me).

There you have it, lovely people—a weekend itinerary that highlights the best of Kansas City! From jazz and sports to mouthwatering cuisine, this city is bursting with life and flavor. So gather your friends, pack your bags, and get ready for a fabulous weekend! Cheers!
